Many times the most difficult part of the journey is knowing where to start.
WELCOME
Hello! My name is Victoria and I am so happy you’ve taken a moment to stop by and visit my website, The Genealogy Tree House. My hope is that by browsing and reading through my site that you will find the confidence to start, and the direction to continue your own family research.
There are several ways to enjoy your visit to The Treehouse, I suggest first visiting my BLOG page and Past Newsletters. Both will give you an insight into me and, more importantly how I embrace genealogy research. Although my methods are the same as other genealogists, locate ancestors, create pedigree charts and family trees, rinse and repeat.
What is important to me is not to have the most people in my tree, but to know the most about the people who are in my tree. I want to understand what their lives were like, where they lived, worked, went to school and maybe shed light on decisions they made and how those decisions ultimately created the person they became. When I first find my ancestor on a census record I take the time to document and read every column because it’s not just important to know that they lived and were counted in a certain city/town during a certain time, but how and where they lived.
If you’d like help starting your journey or you’d just like to travel along on mine, welcome!
